North Star Science School, the major Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) event for young people pioneered by Professor Brian Cox, is set to return to South Yorkshire in November, and organisers The Work-wise Foundation are looking for local business sponsors.
“Inspiring children early to pursue industry and science is very important – but so is the follow up process and the steps they need to take to get there.” That was the bold message from physicist and TV astronomer Professor Brian Cox CBE to an audience gathered at the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) as part of the North Star Science School event encouraging more young people to take up careers in science and engineering.
More than 500 young people from across South Yorkshire had an ‘out of this world’ experience when they attended the region’s first fully live North Star Science School event.
Some of the UK’s leading experts from across the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) sectors will be heading to South Yorkshire later this month in a bid to excite and inspire young people at this year’s North Star Science School.
South Yorkshire is set to host the North Star Science School with Professor Brian Cox CBE on 24th November at Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park Resort and at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham.
